Minerva’s Virtual Academy (MVA), an award-winning online school serving 850 students from grades 7 to 13, has turned to BigBlueButton to enhance its virtual learning environment. Many of MVA’s students, including high-performing athletes, have found traditional education challenging. The school sought a solution that would offer both teachers and students a superior online classroom experience.
Previously reliant on Google Meet, MVA encountered limitations—lacking essential features like private chat, interactive polling, and seamless integration with their learning management system, Canvas. Also, with Google Meet, the manual uploading of recorded lessons consumed valuable administrative time.

As part of Canvas LMS since 2012, BigBlueButton’s integration automated the upload of recorded lessons, saving hours each week and providing students easy access to missed sessions.
